Beary Special

Hi friends!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.  I'm happy to be here and I'm happy you're here, too!

Don't forget to get your freebie of the day from the Miss Kate's store.  You can do that here.

Today I'm featuring the Valentine Polar Bear in a 3D Frame Card.  I like the way the frame sets this cute bear off.

I popped several layers which added lots of dimension and the frame provides plenty of depth to do that.

If you'd like to see additional pictures or get specific details about how this card came together, come visit me at my blog.  If you do, please take a moment to say, "hello".

Here is the file I used:

I love to use Miss Kate files for home decor!  My daughter is crazy about pandas, so I decided to use the  Panda Bear file for her room.  Here is how my project turned out:

* She has shelves that go along her wall.  This peek-a-boo panda is such a fun addition!

I hope you enjoyed my project! I'd love to see some of you try one of these and share it on the Miss Kate Cuttables Facebook page HERE, or on my Facebook page HERE. TFL, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)

Guest Designer Lorie Ames

Well, it is a fun day here on my blog...my day to guest design team for Miss Kate Cuttables!  Last year I used MKC files to make my husbands Anniversary project (you can take a look at that here if you didn't see it - - it is fab if I do say so myself) and this year I've used MKC to make my granddaughter's first birthday decorations!  Let's get to it! First I must show you the cutie we were celebrating:

That's our sweet Hannah girl!  Her dress is a Princess Birthday dress...so cute!  Now onto my project for MKC today!

So, the above centerpieces were made with the It's Your Special Day and Bee files (I just adore that bee...he has so much personality!).  The flowers and title were printed in color on my printer and then I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut them out.  I then used glue dots to attach them to the decorative straws.  The bird with balloons and the bee's were cut with my Cameo and then pieced together.  I also attached them to decorative straws.

I used my banner board to make her a little birthday banner, too.  This picture is not the best but you get the idea!

And, she loved her cupcake soooo much!  Her brother wasn't so excited about his cake on his 1st birthday so this totally took us by surprise! I hope you enjoyed my fun centerpieces and that I gave you a little inspiration.  Make sure to check out the Miss Kate Cuttable blog HERE and the store HERE! Have a beautiful Friday everyone!

Winter Layout

Hello! Hope your Winter is going great so far. I'm sharing a winter layout today for my design team project.

Everyday Miss Kate offers an amazing FREEBIE OF THE DAY. Stop over on the site to pick it up.

Winter 2016 brought our family a lot of snow in Western Pennsylvania. When you have to get out the snow blower you know it's a lot! The puppies were having so much fun in the snow so I grabbed my camera and snapped a few photos.

For my layout I used the Winter Words file from Miss Kates for my title. I created two offset shadows in my Silhouette Cameo software. I added foam tape between my gray and white layer to add dimension.

The little tag in the bottom right corner is from the Tag Set. I use this file a lot - stop by the store and grab it if you don't have it. I used the pen tool on the Cameo to do my journaling.

Thanks for stopping by today. Stop by tomorrow for the February Challenge and drop by my blog and follow along for more of my crafty projects.

Guest Designer Kimberly Sisco

Hello, all!
I am excited to share a Valentine's Day card with you. And it is my pleasure to be guest designing for Miss. Kate Cuttables. When I found that I would be creating this card for the month of February I knew exactly what I wanted to create. This card features the following cut files from Miss. Kate Cuttables: Zoo Fun Bundle, Wild About You title, and Nested Hearts.

I include all the measurements for this cute little critter peek-a-boo card. I included a process video (at the end of this post) which shows how I assembled my card. I hope you enjoy!

This card measures 5" x 7" and I used a kraft cardstock for my card base. It is a larger card but I think a child would love this cute critter card.

I used my Cricut Explore for all the die cutting and Cricut Design Space to create the design. These files include a JPEG, PNG, and SVG so that it can be used with most electronic die cutting machines. I created a single panel (left) from kraft cardstock; I find this makes creating dimensional cards easier to assemble. The pink card is my main panel where my little critters come to life. I lined up a heart from the Nested Heart file which created this peek-a-boo frame.

These are the hearts that I created from the Nested Heart file. They are the same size as the heart cut outs on the main panel. I used embossing folders to add texture. It is amazing what a difference this made. These hearts measure 2.19" x 1.95". Using my main pink panel as a template I adhered the hearts to the kraft panel; I show this process in the video.

I wanted to add a layered accent panel for the front of my card. I used the Straight and Slim font in Cricut Design Space to write 'Valentine'. I offset the cream cardstock to the right (when layering; see above photo) to create interest.

For my sentiment I used the Wild About You title. I love all the layers with this sentiment. I used my Xyron Create-A-Stick to adhere the words to the shadow. The title measures 2.4" x 2.3". And it includes some fun tropical leaves.

I just smile when I look at these little critters which are from the Zoo Fun Bundle. I used the PNG file that is included in the bundle and the Print then Cut feature in Cricut Design Space to create my critters. I used Glossy Accents on the eyes and nose to bring them to life.

Here is the process video or watch on YouTube:

It was my please to create this card for Miss. Kate Cuttables; be sure to visit her store for awesome cut files.

Happy Crafting,
Kimberly
